MNET, Africa's premiere network launched a search for the face of Africa, someone who will embody the beauty and dignity of the Continent.

Obafemi Martins returns to hold Man City to draw
Obafemi Martins on Monday night made his return to Newcastle United from injury as the Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Manchester City in a dramatic encounter.
Newcastle were reduced to ten men after just 12 minutes when Habib Beye was controversially sent off for a defensive tackle in the area, allowing Robinho to give City the lead from the penalty spot.
However Shola Ameobi, also back from injury but in the Newcastle line-up due to injuries to Michael Owen, Alan Smith and Mark Viduka, brought the Toons back on level terms on the dot of half time.
Newcastle then took the lead early in the second half when Richard Dunne put into his net off a Geremi header but City denied Newcastle a win on the night with Stephen Ireland equalising with four minutes to play.
Manchester City is now eighth on the league table while Newcastle is still in relegation waters in 19th with six points.

Brenda shown the door at Project Fame
Brenda was voted out of the ongoing Project Fame West Africa after surviving probation in the first eviction episode of the reality show which saw the ouster of Betty. She was put on probation alongside the trio of Dorcas, Praise and Wilmot who successfully returned to the Academy after getting votes from the three sources of votes on the show...the audience, the faculty and the contestants.
In the course of the show, the four contestants up for eviction were allowed to perform the songs they had earlier fumbled with which earned them the eviction slots in the first instance.
Brenda was the first to perform Tracy Chapman's song which she did pretty well. Praise did a beautiful rendition of 'Just Once'. Wilmot thrilled the audience with his rendition of Lionel Richie's 'Do It To Me', Dorcas also got on the good side of the audience with her performance of Celine Dion's 'Dance With My Father'.
Praise was first to scale through after coming tops in the votes cast by the audience over the outgoing week. Dorcas also scaled through as the Faculty's choice whilst Wilmut won seven of their ten co-contestants' votes against Brenda's three to remain in the academy.
As it turned out, Brenda wasn't too lucky this time around. Kudos to those who predicted on four2one that Brenda will be the next to go..Your prediction came through..stay tuned for more from Project Fame West Africa..

Colin Powell dances to Naija hip-hop
Colin Powell danced and sang to Olu Maintain's hit Yahoozee
Ex-US Secretary of State Colin Powell has joined a hip-hop band on stage in London to dance and sing in a celebration of African culture.
America's former top diplomat took centre stage along with Nigerian performer Olu Maintain, who sang his hit Yahoozee.
Mr Powell told the audience his own black identity mattered as much as ever and that Africa, with hard work and foreign investment, could prosper like Asia and Eastern Europe.
"I stand before you tonight as an African-American," Mr Powell said.
"Many people have said to me you became secretary of state of the USA, is it still necessary to say that you are an African-American or that you are black, and I say, yes, so that we can remind our children.
"Asia is expanding, it created jobs for people, and Eastern Europeans are doing the same... it's now Africa's turn."

Betty first to be sent home from Project Fame West Africa
Over the past weekend, Betty emerged the first person to be voted out of this year's edition of the Project Fame West Africa. She was sent home according to the rule of the house after the teachers at the Academy chose to save Sopriye, the viewers voted to save Ijeoma whilst her fellow contestants said she wasn't good enough by choosing to save Brenda.
That wasn't the end for her though as she was treated to an eviction party at Club Papas at K's place immediately after her eviction.
Activities at the Academy were not delayed a moment because of the eviction...A series of performances were churned out by the remaining students of the Academy.
Four other students were placed on probation before the expiraton of the evening. They are Wilmot, Praise, Dorcas and, for the second week running, Brenda.
My question now is: who do you think will be the next one to go?.

Your mobile phone beeps, you have received a text message.

Jay-Z Fee to Party Crashes in the U.K.
Now, the economic downturn is even affecting the vital partying sector of the economy. Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z couldn't scare up his usual $50,000 pay-to-party fee this weekend in England, where he's promoting the NBA New Jersey Nets (of which he's a part owner).
Even after the rapper dropped his price to $13,000, there were reportedly no takers, with a club source telling the rag, "At this rate he might even have to party for free.”
The economic crash has made life tough all over. Stocks are sinking, jobs are scarce and folks' retirement accounts are dwindling.[Source]
