Nsofor Obinna thanks Mourinho

In somewhat of a surprise move by Jose Mourinho, Nigerian born Victor Nsofor Obinna started ahead of the likes of Mancini, Adriano and Julio Cruz in the crucial contest against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

It was to be the 21 year old's first ever start in the Nerazzurri colours, and he did not disappoint as he got on the scoresheet in Inter's stunning 4-0 triumph at Roma.

Following the conclusion of the match, Obinna sent out a heart-felt 'thank you' to his boss, Jose Mourinho.

“It’s not easy to put your faith in to a young man like me, so to play from the first minute was quite significant. I have reviewed the goal I scored and it was really beautiful,” he added.

He said at the post-game interview, “During the two weeks of rest, I worked hard with the squad and now the results have shown. We all prepared perfectly for this match and the coach explained in detail all the features of our opponents.

“I'm happy for the victory and the three points won.”

This kid is gradually impressing me... he captained the Olympic team in Beijing 2008 (shows sign of maturity) and now grasped a rare starting opportunity to score sure a lovely goal which no doubt will be rewarded by Mourhino.

It is obvious this kid has what it takes to get to the very top - discilpline and dedication. knowing Mourhino, he only backs players with strong (mental) character, so his confidence in this kid speaks volumes and will further boost Obi Nsofor's confidence.

Fortunately/unfortunately for him, his loan deal to Everton @ the start of the season fell through due to work permit... and now the Inter fans are going mad about him - what a turnaround!

Wishing him up the best and that he stays focused.
